Why is the international Shipping Fee so High?

To ensure a safe delivery of your rewards, I need to send the heavy package via a priority service that offers tracking and insurance. The price reflects USPS’s international priority rate and I apologize for what seems like a high fee. During the campaign, I will be investigation alternate solutions as I would love to bring this down. But I cannot make any promises. Thank you for understanding.

I understand $45 is a lot!

It is however LESS then the actual true cost of the shipment. For example, a 7lbs priority package over to the UK costs $55.20 ( pulled from http://USPS.com ) for just the label alone. The box, packing material and labor to send the parcel is not even factored into that price. I can reduce the rate by shipping things first class in theory, but first class international has NO TRACKING and I simply refuse to send someone their rewards with no zero security and no way to recover it if its lost.

Being a small company eating about $15-25 per shipment is the absolute limit of what I can afford. There is a slim possibility that I hook up with a warehouse overseas and get a better rate, but I sadly cannot promise anything until such a deal has been settled and locked in.

I thank you in advance for your time and understanding. All I ask is that whatever choice you make, that it is fiscally responsible.

What is the difference Between "Resin" and "Plastic"?

Resin and plastic are both materials popular in the manufacture of miniatures. Resin, is hand-cast, expensive material that is harder and more brittle but can retain an extreme level of detail and range of poses than other materials. Our plastic miniatures are machine cast in a more affordable material and thankfully with the talent of our manufacturers and sculptors, little detail is lost in the translation. Check out the link here to see the difference for yourself:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8161934/experiment-of-death-compare-2.jpg

Hobbyists generally prefer resin miniatures because of the stunning a near perfect reproduction of the original sculptures. Board game makers generally prefer plastic because its more durable, and unlike hand-casting, machine cast plastic has reliable/near identical results over thousands and thousands of casts.

Whichever option you choose for your pledge, it will be the highest possible quality figure we can achieve.

The process is difficult and requires a very talented caster, but the results can be

The plastic is PVC and in my opinion is great for organic shapes. PVC is machine injected and the molds are very costly.

Will the miniatures here be available at a later date? ( Resin or Plastic? )

Adam & Anna the explorers of death are the only kickstarter exclusives at this time. I cannot comment on when the other miniatures may be available, but I can say it would be after the rewards for this kickstarter are fulfilled.

Please understand that my full attention is on this kickstarter and fulfilling rewards is my first priority!

Each kit comes with the following total parts : 2 x Female Heads 2 x Female Torsos ( two of the same copy ) 4 x Female Arms ( all unique ) 2 x Female Legs ( each are unique ) 2 x Shoulder Pads ( not every kit has shoulder pads, the rawhide has a muffler instead ) Assorted left and right hands with weapons

2 x Male Heads 2 x Male Torsos ( two of the same copy ) 4 x Male Arms ( all unique ) 2 x Male Legs ( each are unique ) 2 x Shoulder Pads ( not every kit has shoulder pads, the rawhide has a muffler instead ) Assorted left and right hands with weapons 4 x bases

Enough to create 2 female and 2 male miniatures.

Some kits also have accessories , the rawhide kit has a rawhide drum, the lion kit has a whisker harp etc.. These are not attached to hands and can be fitted to the character, the base or not used at all.

How do I assemble the armor kits?

The armor kits are multi part miniatures that are broken into several pieces. Generally the head, torso, arms, legs and shoulder pads will all be separate. The intent of the design is to give hobbyists an incredible amount of freedom when it comes to assembling a miniature to represent their survivor.

Traditionally miniatures are assembled with glue, but advanced hobbyists might use pins or add magnets to their models.

The miniatures are like normal miniatures and need to be glued, pinned or magnetized together. While it would have been cool to make them snap together, it would have ultimately limited their design flexibility and I’d rather have more options for a hobbyist than less!

Remember that your survivor miniature need not exactly reflect the gear that you use while playing the game. How accurate your survivor mini is in relation to your survivor in the game is up to you and your gaming group.

What is an armor kit?

An armor kit is two things.

First, is is 4 figures. 2 identical male figures, and 2 identical female figures that represent survivors that have scavenged and crafted gear out of a particular monster. So the Phoenix armor kit has armor designed from the feathers, hide and bones of the Phoenix and weapons crafted out of things like it’s beak. The armor kits show how survivors adapt when fighting different monsters.

Second, the armor kits are designed to be compatible with each other. Since the figures in the game come in pieces, you don’t have to put the armor kits together as indicated by their design. Together, all the armor kits have specially designed components that can be mixed and matched. If you want your survivor to have a Phoenix katana and a fur armor body, simply use them to create new combinations. Since there are multiple copies of each part in an armor kit, you can create a new Survivor to represent you as you collect new gear in the game. Advanced hobbyists will also tell you, that a dremel and some rare earth magnets can make the parts swappable on the fly, simply stick a new arm onto your magnetized body. It should be stressed that this level of crafty commitment is not necessary to enjoy the game or the armor kits themselves.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
